My name is Ed Anderson, and I have lived in Morton county most of my life and currently reside in the Rolla area. I have been married to Melba (Norton) for 48 years. Melba graduated from Hugoton High School and Emporia State University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. We have three adult children and seven grandchildren. Our three children have relocated to Amarillo, Lubbock, and Ft. Campbell, KY. We are members of Rolla Methodist Church. I especially enjoy being outdoors working around our place in the country which borders the Cimarron National Grasslands. I enjoy four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, camping and generally being outdoors. I was appointed to serve a four year term as a commissioner for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks in 1983. I enjoy tinkering with our small herd of cattle and too many chickens and guineas.
I have been a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the past 50 years, beginning my career at St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, Melba and I returned home in 1980 to raise our children. I was employed or contracted to work at Morton County Hospital, Stevens County Hospital, Satanta District Hospital, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, and Stanton County Hospital. I was later contracted by Seward County Community College as a part-time instructor from 1983 to 1999 when I began full time employment at SCCC. I retired from SCCC after 20 plus years as program director/instructor of the respiratory therapy program. I am also a certified EMT and have volunteered for Morton County EMS for the past three years, previously serving 20 years as an Elkhart/Morton County volunteer firefighter, 12 years as assistant chief.
I graduated from Elkhart High School and attended Garden City Community College. I have an AAS degree in Respiratory Therapy from Wichita State University, B.S degree in Human Resources Management from Friends University, and MEd degree in Education Administration from Fort Hays State University.
I am very excited to start a new chapter in my life sharing life learning principles, promoting academics and growth in student's Christian walk with Christ.
